Catching Up!

It's been a little while since I updated so I'll try to catch everyone up on a few projects I've completed. It means so much to me to have these projects to do. And it's funny when I look around the house how it seems I redo the same areas over and over in the 13 years we've lived here.

Some rooms, like the Living Room and Dining Room have only had furniture rearranged or rotated accessories. Maybe new throw pillows but nothing big. Other rooms, particularly the Family Room, has had many changes. It's a small room, open to the Kitchen and Breakfast Room, and where we all hang out.

Here is one configuration that lasted about a week until darling husband decided to order the ugliest recliner ever made...

      The ugly chair

I'm embarrassed to write how many pieces of furniture were purchased trying to have a comfortable view to the TV no matter where you were sitting! Having it in a side cabinet was awkward. We finally gave in and put the TV over the fireplace mantle and boom!, the room just came together.

We gave away ugly chair and bought dear husband a very comfy recliner. You've seen the changes to the red chairs so next -- the updated Lowboy!! :)

Shabby 2 Uniquely Chic

I love old furniture, I love it's character and charm. If it has dents, dings and scratches it means that is has been loved and part of someones life. My desire is to give it new purpose, new life, and a new home. Even though this is a messy job and I am left with a backache, I get so excited for each new piece that comes my way. I can do custom pieces if you have a piece in your own home that needs a little TLC. You can also find me at https://www.facebook.com/Shabby2UniquelyChic
